Maqbool Fida Husain also known as M.F.Husain was born in Pandharpur in Maharashtra, India. He was one of India’s eminent artist In 1930s he began his career as a painter by painting billboards of bollywood film industry.
Hussain was a great Indian artist known for executing bold and vibrantly coloured paintings in a cubist style. He was the founding member of the Progressive Artists Group. Most of the paintings include diverse topics like Gandhi, Mother Teressa, Scenes from the Ramayana and the Mahabharta.
Hussain also produced and directed several movies. Gaja Gamini in the year 2000 was made as a tribute to Actress Madhuri Dixit.
